With family originally hailing from Nigeria, Sana, her siblings and their single mother were homeless but she did not allow this circumstance to dictate her story. Instead, Sana dove deep into the entertainment industry. Over time she has become a leading African-American woman entrepreneur in new media now thriving in New York City. Sana appeared on the reality program Hustle & Soul and then in marquee advertising campaigns for TJ Maxx and Maybelline.

She is now the host of the first afrobeat-themed radio show dedicated to African music titled Afro Flava in New York City that reaches 2.3M listeners in the tri-state area with her incisive interviews with luminaries in the African music industry. Inspired to provide fashion-forward jewelry Sana recently launched her first e-commerce jewelry store, titled AWKN.
