And I said to the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord? Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” I said, “No, my lord.” Then he said to me. This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel you shall become a plain. And he shall bring forward the top stone amid shouts of Grace, grace to it!”

Zechariah 4:4-7

I’ve been battling this heaviness for the past week and it comes in waves. I usually wake up with it and then it breaks off after worshipping. I shared with our podcast listeners that I’ve done all I know how to do to make it lift. Then, this morning as I had my quiet time God reminded me that nothing in this life happens by OUR power or OUR might but by HIS Holy Spirit. As someone who is naturally driven and has a natural bent towards checking more items off my list, it sometimes can be hard to see, that even while I’m at rest, God is working. Even when I feel like I’m at my lowest, He is the one who gives me strength. He is the one who equips me to mount up with wings as eagles (Isaiah 40:31). Great is His faithfulness!

In times as we find ourselves in today, it’s so important to make sure our hope is anchored in that which we cannot see. It’s important to remind ourselves of God’s character. It’s good to remember that only He is able to deliver, heal and set free. It’s not always easy but He is always good. Of that you can be sure of my dear. So when it feels like God is far away, remember that He is near.

God will never leave us nor forsake us and as long as we abide in Him, we will always be in possession of the strength we need to produce fruit in every season.

No matter how hard the wind blows, no matter how much we want to quit, we will be able to wake up every day with a new fire and fresh passion to fulfill our God-given vision.

All of this can happen in the midst of that which we cannot see.

No matter what the devil would have you to believe, God is still working.
