Dr. Estrelita Bruce is a Life Coach, Christian Counselor, Motivational Speaker, Author, Mother, and Wife. She is also the visionary and creator of A NEW ME: Transparently, Abundantly which has a mission to educate, encourage, and equip individuals to live their lives transparently and abundantly in Christ by providing inspirational value, products, and services.
Dr. E received her Masters of Science in Juvenile Forensic Psychology from Prairie View A&M University and PhD in Christian Counseling from South Florida Bible College and Theological Seminary. She is passionate about sharing her motto by helping others “transform their traumas and losses into opportunities for wholeness and healing.” Dr. E shares this perspective through her intimate and transparent approach in a one-on-one session, group, or large conference settings.
Dr. E resides in Dallas, TX. She’s married to her amazing husband, Brian and they have two girls, Kori and Anais.
What’s your favorite part about the work you are doing through A NEW ME?
My favorite part is to see the transformation before my eyes. As a life coach and Christian counselor part of my passion is to see people healed and restored. Seeing individuals define “A NEW ME” moment and make it their own is so rewarding.
What’s the most difficult part about the work you are doing?
Finding balance. Balance does not look the same every single day or week. Planning helps.
I have to make sure home is taken care of first and be cognizant of self-care. Being in the heart business can be difficult because you want to see people healed but I have to remember to take care of family and myself to maintain that tough balance.
You can’t pour from an empty cup. You need to be filled and full so that you can pour out from your overflow.

What’s been one of your biggest wins for women in the A NEW ME community?
Anytime a client has an aha moment. Also getting them to see their own growth. I have to remind women, “You’re not who you were last week.” We can be so hard on ourselves so that small reminder in growth is always motivating and encouraging to keep them pushing towards their personal change.

What does it mean to you to be a black girl with purpose?
Giving everything. Being a double minority, discrimination is prevalent and it happens. However, I can’t say that I’ve experienced discrimination, but I’ve always had this inward attitude of achievement despite my skin color or gender. In my pursuit of God and purpose, I’ve been able to supersede any attitude of discrimination by accepting the fact that this is who God created me to be. If that means being a mixed race woman to get things done, embracing this truth is my power!
Other young black girls need to see you can break the barriers [of discrimination] and statistics by being who God created you to be. Don’t allow stigma to minimize that.
When you have a kingdom or purpose mindset, which will undoubtedly take time, trials and even tears, eventually you’ll be able to see something larger than what your eyes can see. That is what’s most important.
What is the hardest part about walking in your purpose?
Being honest with myself and putting myself on my calendar. [Also] giving myself time to rest and replenish. Recognizing that I need help and relinquishing duties. I have an amazing assistant and she could probably do way more than I allow her to but she’s teaching me to trust. By trusting the people God has placed in my life in my life more to help me do what I love easier.
What would you say to someone who doesn’t know where to start to find their purpose?
Connect with Christ. Many people have gifts and talents and can operate and monetize it but I believe there is a hole built into everybody that’s created for Him to fill. As we connect with Him we will be able to see what our God given purpose is. That’s where the biggest joy comes from.
What’s your go to scripture when you find yourself needing encouragement?
Psalm 34:18 – But the Lord is near the brokenhearted and He saves those who are crushed in Spirit. I use this to infuse hope.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Try not to look at unfavorable circumstances as God something doing something to you but look at it as an opportunity to grow in Him. It’s really become my mantra. My encouragement is to view life’s circumstances as a growing opportunity.
